Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) kickstarted its campaign for the assembly byelections to be held on July 27 with the slogan— protecting the self respect of the people of Telangana.

Talking to the media, party president K Chandrasekhar Rao said the bypolls would be crucial in the process of achieving a separate Telangana state. "It is a matter of self respect of Telangana people," he said.

Starting his campaign from Huzurabad constituency, Rao exuded confidence that the TRS would retain all its 10 seats and would work for the victory of BJP candidate K Laxminarayana who is pitted against PCC president D Srinivas from Nizamabad Urban constituency.

Lashing out at Srinivas, Rao said the PPC chief was in the fray only to grab the chief minister's seat which appears to be his life's ambition.
