Krishna Vamsi Pasupuleti (కృష్ణవంశీ) (born 28 July 1962) is an Indian film director. He is a two-time national award winning director. He is regarded as one of the most creative directors in India.
Krishna Vamsi was born in Tadepalligudem in Andhra Pradesh. His father named him “Venkata Bangaaru Raju”. His friends used to call/tease him by the name “Bangaaram”. So, before joining his Intermediate Course, he changed his name to “Krishna Vamsi”. He did his BSc. in Tadepalligudem followed by M.A. in Agricultural Economics from Agra University. He then entered the film industry. He started as a camera assistant, assistant to the editor and assistant director. He worked under Ram Gopal Varma.
